- Never was prayer more important. God's love and mercy shine on our military men and women of every faith ... or of no particular faith. Keep the soldiers, the chaplains, and (finally) the ComPadres in your prayers. If we are effective, we know it is only by the grace of God, and with your generous support.
Here is a prayer that's been used at Compadres get-togethers.
Prayer for Our Troops and the Chaplains Who Serve Them
Father, we give You thanks and praise that we are able to enjoy Your peace in a free country. We ask that You protect our soldiers and Marines and the chaplains who serve them in Your name, as they risk their lives to keep peace and bring freedom in our world. Help those far from the comfort of home to find value and meaning in their mission, that their sacrifice not be an empty act. Let them sense the yearning of those who await their return and long for their presence and their loved ones, their parents, their children, and their friends. Protect them when they find themselves in harm's way. Return them safely to fulfill dreams unrealized so that they may bless Your name through the lives they live. Amen.

- Help spread the word of the ComPadres' efforts. Through your church, school, family or other social circles, tell people we are devoted, we are effective, and we need your help.
- Consider a group fundraiser. Some of our greatest support has come from thousands of grammar school and high school students who each paid $1 or $2 to "dress down" and wear a stick-on heart for one day in our "Hearts from Home" campaign.
